There’s something exciting happening behind the scenes at Skye Moore Studio…
I’m delighted to share that Fern and the Summer Storm, the third book in the Wild Britain: Habitat Tales series, is now in the final stages of editing.
Over the past few months, Fern’s story has been carefully shaped, revised and illustrated, and it’s now with Scott for its final round of edits before we order the first proof copy.
This stage is always a mixture of excitement and nerves. Seeing the story come together is incredibly rewarding, but there’s also that anticipation of holding the finished book in my hands for the very first time.
Set in a beautiful summer meadow habitat, Fern and the Summer Storm follows a young hare named Fern as she learns that speed isn’t always the answer. Along the way she’ll meet new friends, discover the wonders of meadow wildlife, and face an unexpected summer storm.
Like all books in the Wild Britain: Habitat Tales series, the story is paired with wildlife facts and information about the habitat that inspired it, helping young readers learn more about the natural world around them. And, of course, 25% of the profits will be donated back to conservation charities.
If everything goes to plan, the proof copy should be ordered very soon, bringing us one step closer to publication.
